Gerald Harlis "Bud" Shock, 75, of Cabot, died Thursday, December 20, 2012. He was born May 17, 1937 in Austin, Arkansas to the late John F. and Hazel O. Griffin Shock. He was a member of Baugh Chapel Baptist Church, the Cabot Jaycees and served as a volunteer firefighter. Bud owned and operated many businesses in Cabot, including The Cabot Insurance Agency, K Center Mini Mall and car wash, Bud's Roller Rink and Cabot Highlander laundry mat. Additionally he developed land for many businesses in Cabot and served on the Centennial Bank Board when it was The Bank of Cabot. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Casey Dennis Perkins. Survivors are his wife, Martha Evans Shock; his children, Curtis Shock and Cathy Semon; his sister, Jean Davenport; four grandchildren, Dennis and Scott Perkins and Tyler and Corey Shock; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Alyssa, all of Cabot. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home with burial following in Old Austin Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the funeral home.
