KERRY N. "PAP-PAW" NEW, 78, of Little Rock, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012. He was born on Aug. 5, 1934 in Quitman, Ark. to the late John N. and Rose New. Kerry graduated from Guy-Perkins High School and attended Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway. Kerry had a long career in insurance and retired with The James Company. Kerry was a lifelong Christian and a member of Highland Valley Methodist Church; an avid golfer and a member of Western Hills and Eagle Hills Country Clubs. He was an avid Razorback fan and former member of the Roadhogs RV group for many years. He enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home with his beloved wife, Freda and their dog, Hunter. Kerry is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, John Eva Karber and her husband, W.G.; granddaughter, Natalie Kaye New; in-laws, Clarence and Esta Ricketts and brother-in-law, Tommy Ricketts. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Freda Ricketts New; two sons, Greg New and his wife, Angie and their daughters, Maddy and Olivia Rose all of Cabot; Stan New and his wife, Sheryl and their daughters, Kerianne and Natalie all of Little Rock; one niece, Jeanna Crow; in-laws, Linda and G.W. Whimarsh; Carolyn Ricketts and their families. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at Highland Valley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72211 (501) 224-8300.
