Leola Marie Sugg

Leola Marie Sugg was called to Heaven on Dec. 28, 2012. She was born Feb. 23, 1923 in Provo, Ark. She married the late William Edwin Sugg on Dec. 24, 1943. She is predeceased by her son, William Preston Sugg. She is survived by her daughters, Ann Buckner and her husband Marty and Karen Blohm and her husband Eric; grandchildren, Joe Higdon, Jill Ashmead and William Buckner and seven great grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters, Lydia Smalling and Maxine LaFlamme and one brother, Nolan Purtell. She is predeceased by two sisters, Lucille Brook and Doris Jean Purtell. The oldest of six children of Oliver Preston and Elsie Hill Purtell, she helped care for her younger siblings and was loved by them all. She had a particular affection for all children throughout her life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother with a steadfast faith in God, and a member of Orion Missionary Baptist Church. She has gone to join her loving husband, Bill, in Heaven. Her tender heart and friendly smile will be missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank the staff at Foxridge in Bryant for their care and kindness over the last 3 1/2 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home with burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
