Bobby Rex King, 90, of Conway, died Dec. 29, 2012. He was born Nov. 25, 1922, son of Troy and Vera (Bell) King of Mt. Vernon. He was a Postmaster and Rural Mail Carrier for 40 years, and was a member of the National Association of Postmasters and Rural Letter Carriers. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Cadron Creek Masonic Lodge of Mt. Vernon for over 50 years, serving in every official capacity. He is survived by his son, Robert R. (Sharon) King of Conway; daughter Kathy Adkisson of Little Rock; grandsons, Clint (Marie) King of Mt. Vernon, and Monty (Callie) King of Naylor; granddaughters Kelli (Johnnie) Wells of Conway, April (Peter) Johnson of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Amanda King of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Maggie and Katie Wells of Conway, Alexander and Julia King of Mt. Vernon, Claire and Max King of Naylor, and Alasdair Rex Mayer of Brooklyn, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma (Fowlkes) King and a sister, Gayle (King) Mills. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home (801 8th Ave) in Conway with Bro. Steve Norris officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthicket Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with Clint King, Alexander King, Monty King, Johnnie Wells, Adam Wells, Matt Wells and Johnny Fowlkes as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6 PM until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials have been suggested to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
