Carrolle Hickman Taegel

Carrolle Hickman Taegel, age 83, of Maumelle, Ark., passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011. She was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Warren, Ark., a daughter of Carroll Wood Hickman Sr. and Fonda Maefalda Brundage Hickman. She was a veterinarian assistant having worked with her late husband Dr. William M. Taegel, and was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include her three sons, Dan Cowling III and wife Susan, Dane Cowling and wife Virginia, and Lee Cowling and wife Karen all of Little Rock; brother, Carroll W. Hickman Jr. and wife Karin of Banner Elk, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Shannon Benetz of Maumelle, Christopher Cowling of Mayflower, Sarah Cook of Conway, Katey Cowling of Rogers, Matthew and Rose Cowling of Little Rock, and Lauren Johnson of Little Rock; three great-grandchildren, Eliza Cook, Lanie Cowling, and Brennan Benetz; step-daughter, Susan R. West of Perryville; step-son, William M. Taegel of Anchorage, Alaska; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Emma Hickman and Helen Connor, and one brother Acie Guy Hickman. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Hope Cemetery, Perryville.
