Cody E. Stuart

CWO4 (Ret.) Cody E. Stuart died peacefully on Dec. 29 at home with his children and grandchildren around him. He was a proud WWII veteran and career military officer in the U.S. Air Force until his retirement in 1971. He then worked for the state of Arkansas as a pipeline safety officer until he retired from the state in 1984. He was born in Nashville, Ark. in 1919, the son of a country veterinarian. He married the love of his life in 1946 and had three children. He was an honest, hardworking and diligent man who always tried to do the right thing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clancy and Emily Stuart, all of his siblings and his wife, Norma Jean. He leaves behind his three children – Chet E. Stuart and his wife Terri Lee; Vicki L. Smith and her husband Julian; and Keith C. Stuart; his grandchildren, Shea Leslie and Casey Evans Stuart, and a niece Genell Threlkeld to cherish his memory. Military memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2011 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock 501-835-3515.
