Hugh Charles Sharp
Hugh Charles Sharp passed away peacefully on Dec. 29, 2011 at Belleview Estates in Monticello. He was born in Warren on Jan. 6, 1922. He was a graduate of Warren High; a World War II Coast Guard veteran; an employee of Arkla Gas Company in Warren for 33 years; and a member of Second Baptist Church, Monticello. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and RV camping enthusiast and was preceded in death by parents Oscar and Annie Bea Harding Sharp; Eileen Knight Sharp, wife and mother of son; wife Lorene Palmer Pierce; and brothers Richard Sharp, of Warren, and Lewis Sharp, of Perryton, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Russell Sharp, Monticello; son Wayne Sharp and wife Gloria, Jefferson City, Mo.; grandsons Brandon, Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Darren, with wife Sonja and great-granddaughter Alma, Minneapolis, Minn.; sister Frances Sharp Curry, Austin, Texas; sister-in-law Martha Sharp, Warren; and six step-children and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Second Baptist Church, Monticello, with visitation at 9 a.m. Burial in Oakland Cemetery in Warren by Stephenson-Dearman.
