While at home, Andy LaMonica, 66 of Sherwood, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 31, 2011. He was in the U.S. Army, and he very proudly served his country in Vietnam. He served as the president of the Vietnam Veteran's Association. He served every person he ever met. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sherwood. He had a selfless servant's heart illustrated by his volunteer work with S.C.O.R.E. and VVA. Survivors are his wife of 28 1/2 years, Mary LaMonica and his daughter, Kellie LaMonica, both of Sherwood; brother, John LaMonica of Tucson, Arizona; and a host of family and close friends. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen LaMonica, and a brother, Jimmy LaMonica. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of veterans to Operation Homefront at www.operationhomefront.net/donationform.aspx or other Vietnam veterans organizations. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 5, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
