Ora Miles Ramer, age 86, of Little Rock, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. He was born in Barada, Neb. on March 2, 1925 to his late parents, William Sullivan and Elva Bowman Ramer. Ora worked for Safeway Grocery stores as a produce receiver from Sept. 4, 1952 until Feb. 1, 1987, was a veteran of the United States Army having served in WWII while stationed in Germany, and was a member of Geyer Springs Baptist Church. In addition, he enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a devoted husband, loving dad, granddad and pepaw. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lola F. Ramer of Little Rock, Ark.; two children, Gary Ramer (Polly) of Little Rock, Ark. and Mary Spann of East End, Ark.; five grandchildren, Doug Ramer (Shannon), Amy Ramer, Amanda Mann (Michael), Joshua Spann (Aly) and Matthew Spann; three great-grandchildren, Landon, Ashleigh and Conner, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Everett Ramer. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, Ark., 501-455-1067, with Reverend Dave Huey officiating. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. A visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
