Oscar Lee Lowe

Mr. Oscar Lee Lowe, age 84, of Benton died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. He was born Nov. 2, 1927 in Lubbock, Texas. Oscar was retired from Reynolds Metals Co., a Mason of Lodge No. 34 in Benton, a WWII and Korean War Navy veteran and a Baptist by faith, but attended Parkview United Methodist Church regularly. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lowe and Audrey Henry Cook, his wife of 62 years, Bobbie Lowe, sister, Patricia Ann Cook, and brother, Billy Joe Lowe. Survivors: daughter, Sandra Spickard, Benton; two grandchildren, Michael Lee Cousin and wife Karla, Hernando, Miss.; Kimberly Whitely and husband Johnathan, Camden, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren, Katelyn Cousin, Michael James Cousin, Alexis Whitely and Kirsten Whitely, and a very special friend, Gertude Springer; two sisters, Shirley Greer and husband Dwight, Kathy Gladden and husband Jim, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at New Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ashby's.
