Edith Kinkead Handley of Little Rock passed from this life on January 7, 2012. Born at home in Natural Steps, Arkansas, on January 27, 1922, she had many memories to share of the Great Depression, and the roles each of her family members played during WWII. Edith graduated from Central High School in Little Rock, riding to school on the trolley. After attending Little Rock Junior College and graduating from the University of Arkansas, she married the late Dr. William Henry Handley, Jr. She worked for thirty years as a medical technologist in El Dorado, Arkansas, and Tyler, Texas. She excelled in all things related to homemaking and loved a good game of bridge. Retired, she moved home to the farm in Natural Steps. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Roberta Williford and Ewing Kinkead and four siblings: Ewing, Diana, and Harrold Kinkead and Mattie Fowler. She is survived by three daughters: Diana Waters and husband Philo of Burleson, Texas, Ruth Chritton and husband Dennis of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Roberta Langran and husband Dick of Dallas, Texas. Her legacy includes one granddaughter and three grandsons. She was blessed with seven great-grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews. Visitation will be held at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, (501) 224-8300 in Little Rock, Arkansas, on January 12, 2012, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Natural Steps Cemetery at 12 noon.
