Robert Reynolds

Robert (Bob) Reynolds, 88, of Benton, went to meet his Heavenly Father January 9, 2012. He was born April 25, 1923 and raised in Prattsville, Arkansas to the late Monroe and Ida Mae Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Mabelvale where he served many years as Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He retired from the U.S Post Office in 1985 after approximately 30 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed working at Rineco with his three sons. His three loves were his family for which he was a great role model, his church and the Razorbacks. He was preceded in death by his parents; son and five siblings, Roy Reynolds, Coy Reynolds, Ava Mooney, Marie Pumphrey and Rita Gill. He was the beloved husband of Doris Shoptaw Reynolds for the past 64 years; the father of three sons, Gary (Debby) Reynolds of Mandeville, Louisiana, Larry Reynolds of Benton and Terry Reynolds (who preceded his father in 2008); three grandchildren, Leslie (Ben) Penix of Fayetteville, Neal Reynolds of Little Rock and Devin Reynolds of Benton and a great-granddaughter, Madeline Penix. Pallbearers will be Danny Reynolds, Tim Stuckey, Joe Donald Pumphrey, Gary Shoptaw, Bob Sparks and Neil Reynolds. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, January 12 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, January 13 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Philadelphia Cemetery. Rev. Robbie Horn will be officiating. On-line guest book at www.ashbyfuneralhome.com.
