Richard Twist

Richard "Dick" Twist, 87, died January 11, 2012, in Memphis. Born October 20, 1924, in Twist, Ark., he was son of Clarence and Edith Twist. A graduate of Springfield, Ill. High School, the University of Illinois, and a member of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne during World War II, he farmed for many years in Arkansas. He was married to Mary Singler for 52 years until her death in 2002, and also preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Giltner Twist and Ira Twist. Survivors are daughter, Judy (Mike) of Memphis, sons, Rick (Martha) of Rogers, Ark., Randy (Diane) of Carrollton, Texas, grandchildren, Molly (Dave) Schulte, Andy (Jenny) Twist, Katie (Wayne) Kilmer, Christie Twist, Allison Twist, Bill Dugan, great-grandchildren, Jack and Sadie Kilmer and McLain Schulte, and brother, Bob (Joy) Twist of Scottsdale, Arizona. Visitation will be Saturday, January 14 from 10-11 a.m. at Roller Citizens Funeral Home followed by Graveside Services at 11:30 a.m. at Crittenden Memorial Park.
