Tommy Gale Holcomb

Tommy Gale Holcomb, 60, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on January 11, 2012. He was born November 2, 1951, at Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to Reverend Bill J. and Melba Greer Holcomb. He graduated from Watson Chapel High School in 1969. Tommy began his employment with Entergy in 1973, where he was still working when he met his tragic death. He was a faithful member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church where he served as deacon, usher and a choir member. He was also a member of the Holcomb Brothers Quartet. He was a captain in the Watson Chapel Fire Department, constable of Niven Township for over a decade and served in the United States Army Reserves until 1977. Tommy was an avid deer and turkey hunter and was a member of Ramick Deer Club, where he served as president. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his loving wife, Beth Harvill Holcomb, whom he married on February 23, 1973, at Pine Bluff; two sons, Tommy Gene Holcomb and wife Sommer, Eric Holcomb and wife Mindy; five beautiful grandchildren, Austin, Hunter, Kylie, Kade, Raelee; his mother, Melba Greer Holcomb; four brothers, Bill, Mike. Terry and Danny; along with many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Watson Chapel Baptist Church. A service celebrating Tommy's life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 16, 2012, at Watson Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Todd Howard and Reverend David Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow at Fitzhugh Cemetery. Memorials may be made at the Watson Chapel Simmons First National Bank to a disaster relief fund for domestic fire victims through the Watson Chapel Fire Department.
