JoAnn Eggleston

"Our Yellow Rose of Texas has gone home." JoAnn (Taylor) Eggleston of North Little Rock, Ark. passed away in her sleep Jan. 9, 2012. She was born March 30, 1925 in El Paso, Texas and grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Josephine Taylor of San Antonio. Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Col. John W. Eggleston IV; her son, John W. Eggleston V; her grandson, John W. Eggleston VI; her brother, Tom Taylor and her sister, Mable Taylor Knowlton. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann (Eggleston) Davis of North Little Rock; her son, James Ross Eggleston of Memphis, Tenn.; her sister, Marion Rowe of San Angelo, Texas; her granddaughters, Juli Beth Eggleston of Marietta, Ga. and Kelly Lynn Holden of Coldwater, Miss.; two great-grandchildren and many beloved pets. JoAnn was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and The Shepherd Group in North Little Rock. She was known as "the Garden Lady" in Lakewood and her passion was flowers and landscaping. A memorial service will be held at Griffin Leggett, Hwy. 67/167 in North Little Rock (7724 Landers Road) on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate in JoAnn's honor to any Arkansas animal rescue shelter or group. Rest in peace Yellow Rose.
