Michael Patrick Crowley

Michael Patrick Crowley, 64, of White Hall, Arkansas, died Monday, January 16, 2012, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He was born September 5, 1947, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Vernon Michael and Bernice Marie Durish Crowley. He served in the United Sates Army as an infantry soldier in the Vietnam War. Mr. Crowley was reared and educated in Ft. Scott, Kansas, graduating from Ft. Scott High School. He continued his education by receiving his Bachelors of Science in Education, Masters of Arts and a Specialist in Education degree from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. Mr. Crowley also received his PHD in Education from Oklahoma State University. In 1987, he was recognized by Governor Bill Clinton for Academic leadership while serving as Superintendent for the White Hall School District and received several awards and acknowledgements for educational service and dedication throughout his career. He enjoyed antique cars, working in the yard, caring for plants and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Mr. Crowley was of the Catholic faith. He was currently working as the Special Services Supervisor of the Sheridan School District. He had also worked for the Department of Education for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Irene Pyle Crowley, whom he married in 1968, in Ft. Scott, Kansas; a son, Patrick Crowley of Little Rock; a daughter, Michelle Bond and husband Bobby Bond, Jr.; two grandchildren, Hayden and Addisson Stanfield; two sisters, Pam Nelson and Ginger Prentice both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; along with several nieces. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012, at Ralph Robinson & Son. Burial will be private at a later date. Donations may be made in memory of: Dr. Michael P.
