Stephanie "Steffi" Bach, passed away January 15, 2012. She was born in 1923 in Landshut, Bavaria, Germany. Her parents were Joseph and Stephanie Weber. After his return from Russian prison, she married Hans Bach in 1952. They migrated to the United States in 1955 and lived since then in Little Rock. Stephanie was preceded in death by her only son, Hans Stephen Bach who was a pilot with Falcon Jet and died in an airplane crash in 1987, and by her husband of 50 years, Hans Bach in 2002. Her husband was well known for his fine work in furniture refinishing and repair. Stephanie worked as an alteration seamstress. Even though she lived in Arkansas, in her heart she was still a Bavarian girl. She wanted to share the authentic Bavarian artwork with her friends so she made Christmas angels and dolls, framed paintings, wax seals, and ornaments. She also repaired and painted old trunks. She was proud to represent her hometown and was featured several times in the Arkansas Democrat and a small segment on the television news. She not only sold her angels and dolls in Arkansas, some were sold in England, Canada, and Austria. She was a member of the International Doll Maker Association. She kept her artwork authentic by buying her material in Bavaria, which she visited regularly. She was not only known for her artwork, but also her Christmas cookies and cakes. Stephanie loved her garden, and always tried to bloom something to represent her hometown in Bavaria and some garden figurines. She made greeting cards and bookmarks from the flowers she grew and pressed. She leaves many memories for her family and friends and was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church. She is survived by her grandchildren, Britani Bach and Bayley Gregory, and by her daughter-in-law, Terri Bach, her son-in-law, Nolan Gregory and several family and friends in Germany. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Church with Fr. Erik Pohlmeier, celebrant. Burial will be with her husband and son in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Thursday in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th Little Rock (501) 661-9111 with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. To sign the online guestbook, go to www.griffinleggetthealeyroth.com.
