Veda Lee Cross

Veda Lee Cross, age 89, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 in Katy, Texas. She was born on Dec. 18, 1922 in Little Rock, Ark., to John Roy and Veda Donham. Raised in Little Rock, she attended Hendrix College and the University of Arkansas and graduated in 1945 with a B.S. in business administration. She traveled extensively as a military spouse and retired in Windcrest, Texas. She was an active member for many years of the Windcrest United Methodist Church and the Windcrest Women's Club. Survivors include her children Linda Lee Cross, Nancy Ann Vincent and husband Mark, John Robert Cross Jr., and Carol Jean Cross; grandchildren Kathryn Rosenmann, Jennifer Madson, Lisa Vincent, Laura Vincent, John R. Cross III, Kristin Cross, Leah Cross, and Myles Cross; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Katherine Rice of Little Rock, Ark.. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Rev. H. Ray Davis officiating. Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetfuneralhomessa.com.
