Jesse Cecil "J.C." Harrison, 83, of Mt. Vernon, a member of the Church of Christ, went to be with his heavenly father and savior, January 25, 2012. He was born February 25, 1928, in Mt. Vernon, Arkansas, to the late Cecil and Violet (Rickett) Harrison. He was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and General Motors Technical Institute of Engineering, in Flint, Michigan. He was a carpenter by trade of 64 years and a member of the Chicago Carpenters Union Local 80, for 60 years, where he lived and worked for Kenny Construction on projects such as rebuilding the US Steel Mill, the Dan Ryan Expressway, the Eisenhower Expressway, Chicago O'Hare Airport, the Chicago Skyway, and other projects over a 25 year period. His other accomplishments include the Titan Two missile silos and the Pine Bluff Arsenal. He held an Arkansas Real Estate Brokers license and was a certified MAI appraiser. After retirement he spent time back in Arkansas on his farm where he enjoyed his horses, cattle, hunting and gardening. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Jarvie Lee Harrison. J.C. is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathleen (Keathley) Harrison; a son, Ricky Harrison (Ginger) of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Dixie Harrison Sowards of Rose Bud and Donna Harrison (Ray Kelley) of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Adam Harrison of Conway, Joshua Harrison of Searcy, Cliff Harrison (Jenni) of Greenbrier, Jeremy Lasley (Shannon) of Mt. Vernon, Kendra Hadley of Conway and Jessica Harrison of Mt. Vernon; and seven great-grandchildren. J.C. will be remembered and missed by his family and friends for his stern and direct personality and his hard work ethic along with his strive for perfection and lived by the philosophy of his word was his bond. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2012, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, in Conway. J.C.'s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012, in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, in Conway. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
