Linda Ann Speight

Linda Ann Speight, 62, of Cabot died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012. She was born June 3, 1949 in Little Rock to the late Robert and Margaret Berry Mathys. She was a histologist for 35 years and worked at the Lab of Pathology in Searcy. Linda loved her family, granddaughters and animals and enjoyed being a part of the Cabot Dance Academy, traveling and reading. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Wayne Mathys. She is survived by her daughter Tonya Drees and her husband, Doug of Cabot; three grandchildren, Kelsey Drees, Ashley Drees and Brianna Speight; one great-granddaughter, Lexi Hammond; two brothers, Richard Mathys and his wife, Joan of Jacksonville, and Larry Mathys and his wife, Amy of Benton; one sister, Karen Stephens and her husband, Clay of West Monroe, La., a sister-in-law, Pam Mathys of Mabelvale and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Visitation for family and friends will be 1:30-3 p.m., Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 in the Chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, with funeral services following at 3 p.m. Pastor James Bennett will be officiating.
