Crystal Rena Norwood Carter, 39, of Sheridan, Ark. was carried by angels into the arms of Jesus on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012. She was born in Hot Springs, Ark. on Feb. 17, 1972, the daughter of Rick Norwood and Mary Linda (Davis) Vance. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Garvin and Pauline Norwood; maternal grandparent, Billy Flynn Davis, and step-brother, Clay Tyson Vance. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Terry Ray Carter; her loving parents, Ray and Linda Vance of Sheridan, and Rick Norwood of Malvern; cherished son, Michael Austin Gibbs of Sheridan; adored grandmother, Mary Tom Davis of Sheridan; step-son, Justin Chase Carter and wife Shelby Lynn of Cabot, Ark.; step-brother, Jeffery Daniel Vance of Sheridan, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her. Crystal touched the lives of many people with her beautiful smile and generous spirit. She loved life to the fullest and especially enjoyed the outdoors. Her life could be characterized as a loving, caring, affectionate, and giving wife, mother, daughter, and friend. She was multi-talented, and felt at ease whether it be art painting, singing a song, or writing poetry. She was a 1990 graduate of Sheridan High School, attended Henderson State University, and was presently enrolled at Liberty University. She was employed at Crews & Associates in Little Rock, Ark. Crystal was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Chad Odom, Jody Barnes, Craig Autrey, Carey Autrey, Roger Harris, and Larry Lamont. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 30 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Bro.Ricky Poynor and Rev. Daniel F. Davis officiating. Interment will be at Providence Cemetery immediately following the service. Memorial donations may be made to Providence Cemetery Association or Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, Ark.
