Odis D. Clark

Odis D. Clark, age 71, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mr. Clark was born Feb. 26, 1940, in Pine Bluff, a son of the late John William Clark and Grace Marie Robertson Clark Frazer. Mr. Clark was reared and received his education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Watson Chapel High School. He also attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Henderson State University, Northeast Louisiana University, the University of Alabama, and the University of Texas at Arlington. He taught school at Watson Chapel for 17 years and was the assistant superintendent of curriculum. He was Superintendent of Schools at Plainview, Eudora and retired from the Danville School District in 1988. Mr. Clark was a member of Jacob Brump Lodge No. 160 F&AM in Pine Bluff. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Merrine Carver. Survivors include two brothers, Franklin D. Clark of Pine Bluff and Archie Clark of Leesville, La.; a sister, LaVenda Keatts of Leesville, La.; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church, 13369 Highway 54 East, Star City, Ark., with Reverend James Patterson officiating.
