Betty Jean Chism, 71, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2012. She was born on October 29, 1940 to Ollie and Katherine Brown in Little Rock. Betty was an Upholstery Seamstress in the Family Upholstery trade business for more than 50 years. To know her was to love her and she never met a stranger, her doors and heart was open to everyone. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the sunshine of her life. She enjoyed many years of camping, fishing, bingo, casinos and stock car racing starting out with her son racing and followed by her grandsons, she loved watching them race more than life itself. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Burton and Katherine Brown; late husband, Dewey Ray (Sonny) Chism Sr.; son, Dewey Ray Chism Jr. and brother, Ollie Butch Brown. Betty is survived by three daughters, Kathy Chism of Bryant, Debbie (Paul) Montgomery of Hensley and Wanda Chism Carpenter; one son, Robby (Kathi) Chism of Little Rock; nine grandchildren, Mikey, Phillip, Karen, Ginnie, Krystal, Dewey III, Robin, Brandi and Koti that loved their (Mamaw); ten great grandchildren, Logan, Linzee, Kaitlyn, Chloe, Lanee, Johnathan, Nathan, Destiny, Landon and Dalton; five sisters, Katy Tull, Cynthia (James) Harris, Ollie Smith, Sherry Bisbee, Mari Bea and (Rick) Sorrows and a host of family and friends who all loved her and will miss her dearly. A celebration of Betty's life will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home 4212 Hwy. 5, Bryant. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in East End.
