Tommie Evelyn McFatridge Johnson, 97, of Stuttgart, departed this life on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Baptist Health Medical Center at Stuttgart. Mrs. Johnson, born March 21, 1915 in Roxton, Texas, was the middle child of the late Thomas and Lillie Nix McFatridge. Upon graduation from Roxton High School in 1932, she married Evers Lee Johnson Sr. and then moved to Arkansas where she was a homemaker. While living in Stuttgart, she was a sales consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics for 25 years. She was a faithful member of the Stuttgart Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Evers Lee Johnson Sr.; her second husband D.C. Argo; her two brothers, Ervin and James McFatridge; a daughter Carolyn Virginia Bryant; a grandson Buddy Bryant; and a son-in-law, Hollis Reed. Tommie is survived by a daughter, Gwendolyn Dolores Reed of Pine Bluff and a son, Evers (Sonny) Lee Johnson Jr. (Rebecca) of Slovak. She has 10 grandchildren: Evelyn Harrison (James), Hollis Reed Jr., Belinda Lawson (Delbert), Patricia Tole (Steve), Regina Staton (Ray), Syble Livingston, Stephanie Bradshaw (Jim), Steven Bryant (Tina), Hollie Miller (Jodie), and Gregory Johnson; three step-grandchildren Sarah, Rick, and Katherine Hatfield; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 2, 2012, 10 a.m. at Stuttgart Church of Christ, 1806 North Buerkle Street in Stuttgart. Funeral services, officiated by Brother Joe Spangler, will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Lone Tree Cemetery in Stuttgart by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
