Curtis A. Crook

Curtis A Crook, 93, of Little Rock passed away on May 2nd, 2012. He was born in Belfast, Arkansas to the late Jacob and Ludie Crook. Curtis proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII in the 818 TD Battlion. He was awarded five Bronze Stars and the Bronze Star Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and was entitled to wear the American Defense Service Ribbon and the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon. He served in Normandy, North France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. Curtis married the love of his life in 1942, Lillian Juanita and they celebrated 70 years together this past March. He was a retired auto mechanic from the City of Little Rock Police Department. He was a Master Mason with the Albert Pike Lodge #714. Curtis was a member of Crystal Hill Baptist Church for over 50 years. He loved to travel, often attending Army reunions in various places. Curtis was gifted with a green thumb and loved growing plants especially cactus. He leaves to cherish his wife, Lillian Juanita; his son, Royce Crook of Hot Springs; his sister-in-law, Sue (Clyde) Smith; his brother-in-law, Curtis (Mary) Watson; his nephews, Curtis Nathan Crook and Steve Crook and a host of extended family and friends, all who will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 5th, in the chapel at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home with Brother Larry Ballard officiating.
