Lola Mae Bennett, 98, of Carlisle, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle. Lola Mae is survived by her son, Billy Bennett and wife, LaQuita of Carlisle; daughter, Annette Hendrickson of Conway; grandchildren, Deanne Tanksley (Billy) of Natchez, Mississippi, Andrea McConnell (Doug) of Rogers, Arkansas, Mason Bennett (Miranda) of Oxford, Mississippi, Chad Bennett (Brea) of Carlisle, and Amber Bynum (Martin) of Little Rock; great-grandchidren, Hayden McConnell, Clay McConnell, Brett McConnell all of Rogers, Mary Mason Bennett and Brooks Bennett of Oxford, Mississippi, Lily and Weston Bennett of Carlisle, and Bennett Bynum of Little Rock; beloved niece, Cissie May (Buzz)of Bryant; nephews, Don Hutson (Carol) of Fayetteville and Gary Perkins (Mary Frances) of Carlisle. Lola Mae came from a strong Methodist family who pioneered the First United Methodist Church in Carlisle. Lola Mae held many offices throughout the church, including being a member of the choir for 72 years. She was very involved in various clubs in Carlisle and was a member of the Eastern Star. She will always be remembered for her giving and caring for others unable to do for themselves. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 5, at the First United Methodist Church in Carlisle. Interment will be in the Carlisle Cemetery. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle and Arkansas Baptist Hospice for the loving care given their Mother.
