Martha Lee Morgan, 92, a life long resident of North Little Rock, passed away May 2, 2012. She was born on January 9, 1920 in North Little Rock, the eldest of four daughters born to Robert L. and Martha (Block) Clark. Martha Lee is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack Morgan, Jr., and two sisters, Bobbie Edwards of New Jersey and Elizabeth Ann Matthews of North Carolina. She is survived by two sons, Clark Morgan and wife, Peggy and Frank Gene Morgan and wife, Clarice, one sister Catherine Thomey of Sherwood, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Martha Lee was a life long member of Central Baptist Church of North Little Rock joining in 1930. She taught various Sunday school classes for over 40 years, was active in Women's Missionary Union for many years, often serving as a Bible study teacher. She was the church pianist and substitute organist for over 30 years. She also sang in the Sanctuary Choir, the Senior Adult Choir and played in the Hand bell Choir. Martha Lee dearly loved her church. Martha Lee attended public school in North Little Rock, graduating from NLR High School in 1938. She was very proud of the fact that she had attended Ouachita Baptist University for a short period of time. Martha Lee worked for the Baptist Book Store in Little Rock prior to employment with the Veterans Administration. She retired from the Veterans Administration after thirty plus years of service holding the position of secretary to Chief Fiscal Division. After retirement she enjoyed reading, traveling, and line dancing. The family would like to thank the staff at Sherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the love and care provided over the past years. A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church, 5200 Fairway Avenue, North Little Rock. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church. A family only graveside service will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park.
