CAROLYN JANIE ALLEN PATTERSON, age 74, passed away on May 4, 2012 after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was born in Dumas, Ark. on Oct. 27, 1937 to the late Charles E. and Mora D. Allen. Carolyn is the last survivor in her family which included brothers, Carlton, Joe; sister, Charlene and husband, Jack N. Patterson Sr. Nanny is proudly survived by her daughter, Carol P. Elkins (Phillip); sons, Jack N. Patterson Jr. (Sherry), and Bryan A. Patterson (Julie); granddaughters, Laura Patterson Ison (Chris), Jordan Patterson, Darci Patterson, Claire Elkins and Brooke Ferguson (Seth); great-grandchildren, Jackson Ison, Luke Ferguson and Bella Probasco. Carolyn worked proudly at UAMS as the director of purchasing for 25 years until her retirement in 1999. She was loved by all who knew her and touched so many lives with her generous heart. There was nowhere her friends and family would rather be than her house for "home cooking" for which she was famous. One cannot mention Carolyn without her best friend, Betty Foster. When Carolyn and Betty were together it classified as an adventure, you knew they were going to have fun. The families deepest gratitude goes out to Tori, BMC Hospice and the staff at Hospice Home Care. Our love to Julie Patterson for taking such good care of our "Nanny" for the past year. Those who knew Carolyn knew she loved her animals. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of your choice. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home (501)455-5800. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Henderson United Methodist Church, 13000 West Baseline Road, Little Rock, Ark. with the Reverend David Moore officiating.
