Marilyn Camden Norton

Marilyn Camden Norton, 81, of Hot Springs Village died May 5 2012, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. She was born Oct. 24, 1930, in Ashley County, Ark., daughter of Fred and Zelma Tilbury Camden Marilyn was educated in Wilmot, Ark. and graduated from Arkansas A & M (now University of Arkansas) in Monticello with a degree in Education. During her life Marilyn was a teacher, business owner, award winning poet, Arkansas senior poet laureate, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Christ the Hills Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking, playing bridge, writing poetry and being Nannie Noo for her six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur T. Norton Jr.; son, Todd Davis Norton; sister, Helen Hamilton of Moss Hill, Texas; one brother, Fred Camden, Dallas. Mrs. Norton is survived sons; Tim Norton (Pine Bluff), Kip and wife Kay Norton (Hot Springs); daughter, Pam and her husband Hal Hyneman (Jonesboro); six grandchildren, Jason and Kelley Elizabeth Norton, Hunter and Camden Hyneman, Katherine and Anna Claire Norton; her sister Evelyn Easterling of Decatur, Ark.; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 8 at 10:30 a.m.; at Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church in Hot Springs, Village. Burial will be private by Ralph Robinson & Son.
