Thomas Chester "Tom" Kennedy of Conway, formerly of Little Rock, died May 1, 2012. Tom was born Feb. 13, 1940 in Dewitt, Ark. to the late George Britain and Nina Purdy Kennedy. Tom was a 1958 Dewitt High School graduate where he was Senior Class President and All-State Football team as quarterback. He attended the University of Central Arkansas and UALR. He was an insurance broker starting his career with Union Life Insurance Company and National Old Line Insurance where he spent 23 years and served as vice president before becoming self-employed in 1988. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at his Greers Ferry lake house and summer trips to Florida. He loved playing golf with friends and grandsons and played at many famous courses throughout the country. He was a founding member of Faith United Methodist Church in Little Rock where he taught Sunday School and served on various committees. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold and sister Myrl Katherine Henderson. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Kay Shannon Kennedy; sons, Thomas Scott of Greenbrier and Cary Danan (Catharine Ray) of Conway; four grandchildren, Matthew Scott, Michael Ryan, Shannon Nicole and Elizabeth Carey all of Conway; one great-grandson, Aaron Scott; one brother in law, Charles Shannon (Linda) O'Fallon, Missouri; two sister in laws, Sheila Chenault of North Little Rock and Lynda Daniel of Harrison.
