WILLIAM H. ERWIN, 80, of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away Saturday, May 5th, 2012. He was born Dec. 12, 1931 in Monticello, Ark. to George B. and Alene Owens Erwin. Bill was a very loving husband, father, brother, and friend to many. He enjoyed spending time with his family traveling all over. He was retired from the United States Air Force, where he served as a flight engineer among several other duties. After his retirement from the Air Force, he went to work for the postal service as a letter carrier. He volunteered for many years at the LRAFB in the Retiree Activities Office, and was a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church-North Little Rock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Lochala. Cherishing his memory are his wife of 53 years, Jane Hodges Erwin; his son Daniel Erwin and his wife Susan of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers, Bryce Erwin of Monticello, Bruce Erwin of Monticello, and Willard Erwin of Hamburg; sister Dorothy Williams of Dermott; and a host of friends. A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock (501) 835-3515 with Dr. Bob Wiegel officiating.
