Charles David Taliaferro, 80, SMGT, USAF (Retired), born July 23, 1931, in Fenter, died May 7, 2012. He was preceded in death by parents Charles Albert Taliaferro and Lucy Carolyn Taliaferro, two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include wife of 57 years Patsy R. Taliaferro, daughters Kayla Kilgore (Duke) of Houston, Texas, and Gail Fry (Dan) of Heber Springs, four grandsons, two granddaughters, and four great-grandsons. He is also survived by one sister, Estelle White, of Benton. Charles spent 24 years in the Air Force and was stationed at various bases, including Khe Sanh, Vietnam, 1967-1968, during the Tet Offensive. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious achievements, the Good Conduct Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. After his retirement from the Air Force, he was in home construction in Jacksonville, for 23 years. He built approximately 150 homes. He spent his life taking care of those he loved dearly, especially his mother, his wife, and his daughters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 1818 N. The family would like to thank Dr. Greg Bienvenu, the ICU staff at Springhill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, and the dialysis staff on John Harden Drive in Jacksonville.
