Margaret Alice Standridge

Margaret A. Chandler-Standridge, age 75, of Dardanelle died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Atkins Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born Nov. 30, 1936 at Thornton, Ark. to the late Leslie R. and Jennie Mae Seymour Chandler. She was a Registered Nurse and worked for Dr. Pennington and at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center for 39 years. She was one of the first recipients of the 40 and 8 Nurses Training Scholarships awarded by the Voiture Locale 1365 in May of 1955. She was a member of the Slaty Crossing Freewill Baptist Church and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Dardanelle. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, W. Cleo Chandler, Robert Kenneth Chandler and a sister, Essie A. Jones. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Delmer M. Standridge of Dardanelle; son, Leslie M. Standridge and his partner James Brummett of Minneapolis, Minn.; daughters, Brenda A. Standridge-Cantrell and husband Billy of North Little Rock, Jennifer M. Standridge-Simmons and husband Daniel of Austin, Ark.; sister, Perla Chandler-Shelton and husband John of Sherwood, Ark.; brothers, Leslie Murray Chandler and wife Cheryl of El Dorado, Ark., Eddie Chandler and wife Debbie of Piney Flats, Tenn.; grandsons, Chandler and Noah Simmons of Austin, Ark. and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the Slaty Crossing Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. David Downum officiating. Burial will be in Ringer Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Pallbearers: Windell Standridge, Gary Adair, Michael W. Standridge, Kevin Hampton, Morris Shelton, Russell Standridge. Honorary Pallbearers: Kenneth Powell, Floyd Thomas, Kenny Lee Standridge, Rickey Standridge, Steve Loucks, Jeremey Roy.
