Billy Ray McGillvray, 69, of Bald Knob, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at his home. He was born September 11, 1942 in Dyess, Arkansas a son of the late Charles and Agnes Cypret McGillvray. Billy Ray was a retired pipeliner and was a well-known fixture in the Bald Knob community. He had been affiliated with Stiles Auction Company and the Witcher Auction Company for over thirty years and was one of the founding members of the Bald Knob Volunteer Ambulance Service. Billy Ray and his family had also proudly taken care of the Bowlen Cemetery where several generations of family is buried. He is survived by his loving wife, Marcia Ann (Balaski) McGillvray; 3 sons, Robert McGillvray (Mary), Charles A. McGillvray (Delenna) McGillvray and Mathew McGillvray; brothers, Charles N. McGillvray (Sharon), Clifton McGillvray and Sam McGillvray (Jennifer); sisters, Norma Osmon, Brenda McKnight (Billy) and Kathy Rutherford (Dennis); grandchildren, Ashlyn McGillvray and Will McArthur. Billy Ray was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan McGillvray and an infant brother. Visitation will be on Sunday from 6-8 p.m., Services will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Albert Mullins officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia. Memorials can be directed to the Carter Cemetery Association. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
