MACK EDWARD LONG, retired MSgt of the US Army, age 79, of Jacksonville, Ark., passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Mr. Long is survived by his loving wife, Janette Long and seven children, Ellen Delisle of Arkansas, Debra Uttaro of New Mexico, Mike Long and wife Gail of Missouri, Steve Long and wife Mediha of Turkey (children of Mack and Hannelore Long), Chester Chancellor of Arkansas, Brian Chancellor of Arkansas, and Kelly Wilson of Arkansas. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, plus a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Batesville, Ark., to Mack Owen Long and Laura Emaline Long. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Hannelore Long, and by five siblings: David Long, Lorene Long, Junior Long, Chester Long, and Charlie Long. He has one surviving sister, Martha Creech, and one surviving brother, Melvin Long. We will love and miss you always Daddy Mack. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. Interment will follow in Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock.
