Willie Lee Gately

WILLE LEE (SPEER) GATELY, 89, of Little Rock, died Friday, May 18, 2012. She was born Dec. 13, 1922 in Hamlin to the late William Noah and Maude Belle Neldon Speer and grew up in Wynne. In 1944 she married Samuel W. Gately and moved to Cabot. Mrs. Gately was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter; sisters, Jestine Holder, Vera Hamilton and Laura J. Peters and half sisters, Kate Ellis and Bernice Cornwell. Mrs. Gately is survived by a sister-in-law, Martha Gately, numerous nieces and nephews great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, great-great-great nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in the chapel of Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501)843-5816 with Brother Billy Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
