Kenneth A. Walters

Colonel Kenneth A. "Wally" Walters passed away peacefully on 19 May, 2012. Born in Lexington, Virginia, Colonel Walters graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 1988, and was commissioned that same year as an officer in the United States Air Force. Colonel Walters selflessly served our nation for over 24 distinguished years across multiple assignments. As a Master Navigator he accumulated more than 2,000 flying hours in the T-37, T-43, KC-135E, KC-135R, and KC-135RT aircraft. On the ground he proved his value as a flight commander, squadron, group and numbered air force executive officer, assistant director of operations, personnel officer, and joint staff branch chief. He proved his leadership mettle as commander of the 348th Recruiting Squadron, and most recently as Deputy Commander of the 19th Air Wing's Mission Support Group at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. Colonel Walters is survived by the former Ms. Amy Yelverton (wife), Ryan (son), Paige (daughter), Ms. Mary Walters (mother), and Randy Walters (brother). His father, Mr. Carl Walters, passed in January 2003. Services will be held 23 May, 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 163 Mount Carmel Road, Cabot Arkansas, 72023.
