Naomi Hamilton

Naomi Hamilton, 98, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., formerly of New Jersey, Beebe, Ark. and Clinton, Ill., passed away at 5 a.m., Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Sandpiper Nursing Home, Mount Pleasant, S.C. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, Ill. with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. There will be no visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, 201 S. Center St. Clinton, Ill. is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. Naomi was born on June 1, 1913 in Belle Rive, Ill., the daughter of Fred and Cora Smith Thompson. She married George Edward Hamilton in 1934 in Ellis Grove, Ill. He passed away on Oct. 7, 1994. Survivors include two sons, George E. (Gail) Hamilton Jr. of Walnut Creek, Calif. and C. Warren (Joanne) Hamilton of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; four grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
