CLEO BLASINGAME CUMMINS, 93, of Little Rock, passed away on May 27, 2012. Cleo was born in El Paso, Ark., on Jan. 20, 1919 to Jim and Nettie Blasingame. She was one of seven children and was a star basketball player at Vilonia High School averaging 20 points a game. Cleo was married to V.O. Cummins for 52 years until his death in July of 1995. They had one child, a daughter, Brenda Cummins Wingfield. Cleo kept books for her husband's businesses and was a wonderful homemaker and mother. Their home was always open to Brenda's friends and hosted many Young Life meetings, as well as family gatherings. Cleo taught five year old Sunday school at Park Hill Baptist Church for over 20 years. Preceding her in death were: her parents; her husband; three sisters, Ava Griggers, Eulelah Morton and Ilene Stocks; two brothers, Johnny Blasingame and J.O. Blasingame. Survivors are: her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Hartsell Wingfield of Little Rock, Ark.; her granddaughter, Kimberly Griffin and husband, Craig of Atlanta, Ga.; her grandson, Brett Wingfield and wife, Stacy of Little Rock; and her five great-grandchildren, Bailey and Robby Griffin and Andrew, Zach, and Kate Wingfield. She is also survived by one dear sister, Aneta Russell, and many special nieces and nephews. Cleo was a wonderful daughter who helped take care of her parents until their death. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and "Mimi." Her greatest pleasure was being with her family and seeing her little "greats." She knew Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, and her legacy of faith is being lived out through the generations and will continue to do so in the future. Her unconditional love, selflessness, and encouragement will be deeply missed by all those who loved her. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Pleasant Hills Living Facility for their kindness in caring for Cleo these past several years and to Wanda and Beverly who proved to be such a blessing by staying with her in the evenings. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Community Bible Study, 790 Stout Road, Colorado Springs, Colo., 80921-3802 or Fellowship Bible Church, 1401 Kirk Road, Little Rock, Ark., 72223.
