Montine Mosley Owen

Montine Mosley Owen, 94, of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012. She was born December 25, 1917 in New Edinburg, Arkansas, daughter of Toliver and Addie Mae Ross Mosley. Mrs. Owen was reared and received her early education in New Edinburg, graduating from New Edinburg High School. She taught Kindergarten at South Side Baptist Church for 27 years. Mrs. Owen was a member of South Side Baptist Church and the American Business Women's Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hearn Owen; her parents; two brothers, James Mosley and Clark Mosley; and sister, Vasta Reed. Survivors include her son, Robert M. Owen and his wife, Pamela, of Long Beach. Mississippi; two grandchildren, Robert B. Owen and Whitney Owen, both of Long Beach; great-grandchild, Avery Owen of Long Beach; and friend, M.L. "Mac" Osmer of Pine Bluff. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2012 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Dr. J.R. DeBusk officiating. Burial will be private.
