Norma Hamilton

Norma Hamilton, 96, of Conway, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, May 29, 2012. She was born Wednesday, April 5, 1916 in Enola, Arkansas to the late Tom L. Melton and Edith Huie Melton. She was united in marriage to Amos Hamilton on October 12, 1940. Norma and Amos, along with their daughter Pat, were the 1962 Faulkner County Farm Family of the Year. They were known for selling smoked turkeys, fruit and cattle. Mrs. Hamilton was a bookkeeper for a farm coop and worked for years at First State Bank. In 1993 she and Amos moved from their old home place in Barney to Bee Branch and in 2004 Mrs. Hamilton moved to Conway. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Amos who died in 1999; and, her only child, Patricia Hamilton who died in 1974 at the age of 26. She leaves to cherish her memory her cousins, Ellis Melton of North Little Rock, Natha Lee Witt of Heber Springs and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be Friday, June 1, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Conway, (501) 327-7727, with Reverend Joe Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery in Barney. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday.
