Doctor Elder RAYMOND SAVAGE, SR., 98, of Little Rock, AR departed his life on May 27, 2012. He was born in Donaldson, Arkansas on July 26, 1913 to the late William "Will" Savage and Mary Jane (Savage) Tucker. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Lee Ollie (Edwards) Savage; three daughters, Hazel Lee Savage, Romania (Savage) Green and Mary Louise (Savage) Williams; six brothers, Arlene Savage, Aaron Savage, Eugene Savage, Daniel Savage, General Savage and Samuel Savage; three sisters, Ruby Lee (Savage) Austin, Christine Savage, and Elaine Savage. He is survived by five children: Raymond Savage Jr., David Eugene Savage (JoAnn), Ruth-Savage Brown, Debra Savage-Braxton (Sam) and James Malcolm Savage; one sister, Mary Marie-Savage Rivers. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Elder Savage was the founder and pastor of Rosedale Church of God in Christ for 65 years. He was very involved in the Church Of God In Christ and was recently and nationally recognized as the oldest living COGIC Pastor throughout the nation. As a result of his strong ties to the community, 41st Street in the Rosedale Community was re-named Raymond Savage Sr. Drive on May 20, 2006. He was gifted in the areas of carpentry and masonry. In his early years he worked for Steinkamp and his unique talent also gave him the opportunity to work at the State Capital. His funeral service will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012, 11 a.m., at Holy Temple Cathedral COGIC, 1322 South Pulaski Street, LR. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 1st, 6-7:30 p.m., at Rosedale Church of God in Christ, 4100 Ludwig Street, Little Rock, Arkansas.
