John Orval Thomas

JOHN ORVAL THOMAS, 92, of Mabelvale, Ark., passed away on Aug. 31, 2012. He was born Nov. 25, 1919 in Slocomb, Ark. to John Q. Thomas and Addie Eldridge Thomas. He is a retired Cinematographer in the motion picture industry. Orval served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Marvin. Orval is survived by his loving wife, Katherine; two sons, John (Kay) of Mountain View and J. R. of Little Rock; two daughters, JoCeil Lippert (Robert) of Quitman and Jane Emma of Mabelvale; two grandchildren, Joshua Carper, Tom (Amy) Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Lexy, Mason, Wyatt and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Ark. (501)455-5800.
