Jack Edgar Coop, 66, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012. He was born in Hope, Ark., on July 26, 1946 to Merlin and Mary Helen (Fiscus) Coop. He attended First United Methodist Church in Little Rock. He was a teacher and taught for the Arkansas Department of Corrections. Jack was a triathlete and a marathon runner and an arabian horse judge. He was an avid sports fan, including the Arkansas Razorbacks and thoroughbred horse racing. He is survived by his son, Griffin Coop (Elizabeth Fortune) and Griffin's mother Martha Coop of Little Rock; sister, Carole Swope (Loyd) of Lincoln, Ark.; nephews, Martin and Patrick Swope, and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6 in the Chapel of Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct, Little Rock, Ark. 72205 (NW Corner of I-630 and Barrow Rd).
