Hettie Faye Roy, age 76, a lifelong resident of Benton, passed away at home September 3, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Benton on March 10, 1936 to the late Traxel and Marie Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bobbie Carter; and brothers, WS Roark and Joe Clark. Faye will be forever remembered by her beloved children, Sherry White (Mike Ward) of Benton and Jerry Ferrell (Mary) of Guthrie, Kentucky; treasured grandchildren, Jeff Ferrell (Jennifer), Kristin Ginther (Matt), Katie Sharp (David), Andrea Ward, Stacey Ferrell; along with step-grandchildren, Randy Ward, Brady Ward (Angie), Audra Scott, Chris Patton and Victoria King and a sister-in-law, Patsy Roark. She will also be missed by 20 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and countless nieces, nephews, friends and family whom were blessed to know her. Faye touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained a sense of humor to the end. She loved to read, dance, put together puzzles, watch Jeopardy, spend time with family and make the occasional trip to the casino. The family extends a special thanks to Arkansas Hospice Services, especially Becky Messinger and Amber Pennington, Dr. Mariann Harrington and Arkansas Hematology, and devoted niece, Charlene Freeman, who all helped care for Faye throughout her illness over the past year and provided special care to her during her battle with cancer. Friends and family are invited to attend visitation at Ashby Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at Hicks Cemetery in Benton.
