Kenneth Wayne Adams, 63, of Dumas, died Monday, September 3, 2012, at Hot Springs following seven years of battling cancer. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cissy Cowgill Adams; two sons, Brian Wayne Adams (Ashleigh Gasaway Adams) of St Louis, Mo., Kenneth Taylor Adams (Sarah Bussey Adams) of Little Rock; and one daughter Ashley Adams Heiple (Dr. Drew Heiple) of Hot Springs; and five grandchildren, Jackson Taylor Adams; Brayden Wesley Adams of St Louis, Mo., Cooper Adams Heiple and Hayden Katherine Heiple of Hot Springs, and Burke Kenneth Adams of Little Rock. He is survived by siblings Charles Edward Adams (Wanda) of Collierville, Tenn., Kermett Eugene Adams (Brenda) of Fresno, Calif., Donald Gene Adams (Kaye) of Dermott, Glenda Adams Donaldson (Don) of Hope, and Delores Adams Livingston (Mike) of Dermott. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen Wesley Adams and Audrey Stracener Adams of Bellaire, and a granddaughter, Mamie Katherine Adams of Little Rock. After graduating from Dermott High School, he attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He subsequently received his Master of Science in Agriculture from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a self-employed farmer in Desha County, then worked as Staff Chair at the U of A Cooperative Extension Service in DeWitt. He served as a crop specialist and served as chairman for the Master Gardener Program. Kenneth had a passion for the Razorbacks, trout fishing and his grandchildren. The family attended the First Baptist Church in Dumas for 36 years. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Dumas, Mamie's Poppy Plates or American Cancer Society. Visitation will be at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5. 2012. Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church in Dumas on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Monticello. Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Home of Dumas.
