Luther Clyde "Jackie" Brasuell, 67, passed away holding the hand of his loving wife on September 5, 2012. Jackie was born in Los Angeles, California on October 29,1944, the son of Luther Clyde Brasuell Sr., and Thelma Toney Brasuell. He is survived by his mother Thelma; his wife, Janeane Patton Brasuell; his children, Connie Hon, Brandi (Ronnie) Nelson, Leigh (Lee) Jefferson, and Toney (Cris) Brasuell; two step-children, Troy (Sebrina) Reynolds and Lisa Vaden; his brothers, Ronnie Brasuell and Dale Brasuell; and six grandchildren. Jackie grew up in Van Buren where he excelled in academics and sports. After high school he earned a football scholarship as a walk on to the University of Arkansas. He was a member of the 1964 Arkansas Razorback football national championship team. He was inducted into the Hall of Honors at the University of Arkansas and the Van Buren High School Hall of Honors. After college, he became a successful financial consultant, teacher, and coach. He was a man of nature who loved to fish and spend time outdoors. In his later years, he met the love of his life, Janeane Patton, and they spent each day together, as if it were their last. Like his wife and his golf clubs, a laugh and a smile were always close by. Funeral services will be officiated by the Reverend Jack Bloxom at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway on Monday, September 10, 2012, at 1 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12 noon preceding the service. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery at Wooster, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. (501) 327-7727.
