Jerry Roger Burnett

JERRY ROGER BURNETT, 75, of Jacksonville went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born Feb. 3, 1937, in Wooster to the late Cecil and Edith Hairston Burnett. Mr. Burnett was a longtime member of South Bend First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 25 years in the 148 Evacuation Unit and in the Vocational Rehabilitation Department at the V.A. Hospital. He enjoyed woodworking and upholstery work. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burnett was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Carolyn Warner Burnett. Mr. Burnett is survived by his daughters, Lindy Roberts (Marty) of Cabot and Donna Park (Mark) of Hot Springs; his sisters, Sue Aultman (Tommy) of Scott and Helen Harper of Sheridan and brother, Dwight Burnett (Carol) of Ward. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Qiana Gardner of Ward, Nazareth V.J. Joey Sando of San Antonio, Texas, Jeffrey Park (Michelle) of Castlegar, BC, Canada, Jason Park (Stephanie) of Bentonville and Jared Park of Hot Springs as well as his great-grandchildren, Julia, Olivia and Sabrina Gardner, all of Ward. The family would like to thank "The Caring Place" and Lynn Reeves, Director, "Alternative Care of Hot Springs" and Alan and Nancy and staff and Arkansas Hospice. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at South Bend First Baptist Church with Pastor John Powell officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park under the direction of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
