Photo of James (Jimbo) Edward Wyckoff, Jr.
After a lengthy and hard fought battle with Cancer, God called home an Angel today, James, (Jimbo) Edward Wyckoff Jr., my best friend and loving husband, age 59, of Mayflower, Ark. went to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ September 6th, 2012. Born October 12th, 1952, Jimbo spent most of his young adult life with his grandparents Arthur and Sue Nichelson, who preceded him in death. He was a self made Carpenter and took care of his grandmother Sue until her passing after Grandpa Nick passed away. Jimbo was saved in 2007 and devoted his life to Christ and his family. He loved to fish and hunt, spending time with his dogs and tending to his garden and flowers; his greatest passion was to Turkey hunt. Once introduced, he perfected his skills in hopes to land the "Big Nasty," which is mounted in his living room today. Jimbo truly missed his calling by never having children of his own, for his step-grandchildren became the love and light of his life. He practically raised Madison and Jaxon Smith; his eyes would light up even in his darkest days when they came to see their "Papaw." He cherished every moment he could spend with Maddy and Jaxon; he enjoyed teaching Josh about trains and Brayden about football and will stay in their hearts forever. Jimbo was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Wyckoff. Jimbo is survived by his loving wife and companion, Marianne Wyckoff to cherish his memories forever, his twin sister, Jan Wyckoff Godwin from Gainesville, Fla. Jan and Jimbo had a bond and love for each other that cannot be explained in words. He also is survived by his mother, Savelle Kaiser, brothers, Dick Wyckoff and Teddy Hackett; a special step-sister, Linda Kaiser from Texas, his stepchildren Michelle Pender, Jackie Hammons and Rhonda Milanic; his Uncle Munn and Aunt Martha from Marthaville, Mo,; Aunt Sissy and Uncle Mel Hackett from Perryville, Ark., Aunt Jean and Uncle Gene German from New York and many cousins. He treasured his relationship with Brent and Garth, sons of his brother, Dick Wyckoff. He shared a love for the Arkansas Razorbacks as well as the St. Louis Cardinals with all of them. He taught the love of his life, Maddy, how to call the "Hogs" at a very early age. Jimbo was blessed with a gift for life and to make everyone he came in contact with feel special. He gave so much of himself to so many people and touched the hearts of everyone he came in contact with. He leaves behind some very special friends that have been by his side most of his life. Among them, Carl and Jonette Hunter, who never turned their backs on him; Jamie Jones, who always tried to keep him straight, John Phillips and John and Pam Shaw. Jesus Christ also placed Tawanna and Travis Houston in his life as well as a very special young Lady by the name of Akeyia, who became a part of his family after a one time meeting. The Family would like to thank Dr. Burnett and his staff as well Scotty and Jeremy, two very caring nurses with Conway Hospice. A very special "Thank you" to all the nurses on 2 East at Conway Regional Hospital, who took very loving care of him and assured that his final days were pain free. Jimbo touched many lives and will be missed dearly by all. His wishes are for all to remember the blessings we are given each and every day and to hug those we love. The Family will have a celebration of Jimbo's life in the chapel of North Little Rock Funeral Home, Saturday, 2 p.m. September 22nd, 1921 N. Main Street in NLR and asked that instead of flowers, to please make a donation to the American Cancer Society or St.Jude's Hospital. Please visit www.ARcremation.com to sign the online guestbook.
