Otis Depriest Mack

Otis DePriest Mack was born on July 10, 1930 to the late Robert Harden and Mable B. Mack in College Station, Ark. At the young age of 16 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country; for his service he received an honorable discharge and most notably the World War II Victory Medal. In 1950 he made Chicago, Ill. his home. On April 22, 1979 DePriest renewed his faith in Christ and became a member of Martin Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church where he was baptized, served on the Usher Board, and drove the church bus. He retired from the Consolidated Rail Corporation. n 1991 DePriest returned to his hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas, where he resided until his homegoing. DePriest, was a fun and loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was always encouraging and delightful to be around. He was a giving person and loved the Lord. DePriest enjoyed fishing and photography. He was elated to live to see the first African-American president of the United States of America.
